1. Overview

ATMO Pulse ("the Application") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our heart monitoring application. The Application is intended for wellness and informational purposes only.

Key Principle: All data is processed and stored locally on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or store any of your health data on remote servers.

2. Data Collection and Processing

2.1 Camera Access

Purpose: The Application accesses your device's camera to capture video frames for photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate detection.

What We Collect:

  • Real-time video frames from the rear camera
  • Brightness values extracted from video frames
  • Timestamps of measurements

What We Do NOT Do:

  • We do NOT record or store video files
  • We do NOT transmit video data to any server
  • We do NOT use facial recognition or biometric identification
  • The Application does not identify individuals or perform biometric identification of any kind
  • We do NOT access the front-facing camera

Video frames are processed in real-time on your device. Only brightness values are extracted and analyzed. Raw video data is discarded after processing. Camera access is used only during active measurement initiated by the user.

2.2 Health Data

What We Collect:

  • Heart rate measurements (BPM)
  • Heart rate variability (HRV) metrics derived from signal analysis
  • Derived physiological metrics (e.g. RMSSD)
  • Measurement timestamps
  • Signal confidence scores

Storage: All health data is stored exclusively on your device in local application storage. No cloud synchronization. No automatic backup to cloud services. No transmission to third parties.

2.3 User Settings

The Application stores your preferences (alert sounds, measurement units, medical disclaimer acknowledgment) locally using device secure storage. This data is never transmitted to any server.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application does not:

  • Share data with third-party analytics services
  • Integrate with cloud storage services
  • Use third-party health platforms
  • Transmit data to any external service

Platform Permissions Requested

  • Camera — required for PPG heart rate detection
  • Files access — used only for user-initiated data export

4. Data Security

All signal processing occurs on your device using a C++ core engine. The Application does not send any data over the internet. No data transmission during processing. No network connectivity required. Processing is deterministic and reproducible.

Your data security depends on your device's operating system security, lock screen protection, and application sandbox isolation.

5. Compliance

GDPR (EU)

  • Right to access — export your data anytime from Settings
  • Right to deletion — clear all data anytime from Settings
  • Right to portability — export in standard formats

You are the data controller for your own health data. No data processing occurs beyond your device.

CCPA (California)

  • Right to know — access all your data via export
  • Right to delete — clear all data anytime
  • Right to opt-out — no data sharing occurs

We do not sell personal information.

HIPAA

This Application is NOT a HIPAA-covered entity. If you use this Application in a healthcare setting, you are responsible for ensuring HIPAA compliance.

6. Medical Disclaimer

ATMO Pulse is NOT a medical device. It is not FDA-approved or regulated. It is not intended for medical diagnosis, treatment, or disease prevention. It is not a replacement for professional medical advice.

The Application provides estimates based on video analysis and may have accuracy limitations. Do not use it for critical medical decisions. Consult a healthcare professional for any concerns about your heart health.

7. Data Retention

  • Settings and preferences are retained until you clear data
  • Users can clear all data at any time via Settings → Clear All Data
  • Deletion is immediate and permanent — no recovery possible

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in applicable laws or our practices. Updates will be provided through in-app notifications and updated policy text in Settings.
