Frequently Asked Questions
What is nervous system training?
Nervous system training means building your capacity for stress recovery through short, regular practices. ATMO uses guided breathing exercises and acupressure to support your autonomic nervous system in returning to balance after stress. This is not meditation — it is structured recovery training focused on resilience.
How is ATMO different from a meditation app?
Meditation apps focus on present-moment awareness. ATMO focuses on nervous system regulation and stress recovery over time. It combines 28 breathing protocols, acupressure guidance, camera-based pulse and HRV insights, and recovery tracking into a training platform — not a mindfulness tool.
How does camera-based pulse and HRV work?
You place your fingertip over the rear camera with the flash on. The camera reads subtle changes in blood flow through your skin (photoplethysmography). ATMO estimates your pulse rate and heart rate variability (HRV) from these readings. This is informational wellness data, not a medical measurement.
Does ATMO work offline?
Yes. Core training and recovery features — breathing protocols, acupressure guidance, session tracking — work without internet. ATMO is designed as a local-first, offline wellness app. No cloud account is required.
Is ATMO a medical device?
No. ATMO is a general wellness product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Pulse, HRV and stress-related insights are informational only and should not replace professional medical advice.
Does ATMO store my health data?
Core wellness data is processed and stored locally on your device. No cloud account is required. You can optionally export session data to Apple Health or Health Connect if you choose. Your wellness measurements are not shared with third parties.
Can I use ATMO without an account?
Yes. ATMO requires no account, no email and no sign-up. Open the app and start training immediately. This is a privacy-first design decision.
What are breathing and acupressure used for in ATMO?
ATMO uses breathing exercises and acupressure guidance as tools for nervous system regulation. The 28 breathing protocols support stress recovery, focus, energy and evening wind-down. Acupressure points are selected from traditional wellness practices associated with relaxation and vagus nerve stimulation.
